C'mon folks, no one thought of Prince?[/QUOTE]
*Again*, this topic is speaking exclusively of FIRST NAMES. Names like "Madonna" or "Prince" or "Pink" are *designed* to be unique, we are talking about FIRST NAMES that have become bywords because of the awesomeness of the people who bear them.

Madonna and Prince are their real "undesigned" given names. Get your facts right before you start with the MAJUSCULE.

so we're saying Prince and Madonna are genuine first names but Pink isn't? i don't believe it
in a world where celebs call their kids apple, tiger lily harper-7, fifi-trixibelle and Kai, Pink is suddenly unacceptable as a first name?

Uh, Prince and Madonna are their birth names. Pink's real first name is Alecia or something.
Anyway, how about Aretha?

Edit because it has already been said.

There is zero difference in the way Prince and Madonna used their given names as artists. LOL. How far will one guy go not to acknowledge he was poorly equipped for an argument? Which he nonetheless made with all the intemperate, asterisked snottiness he could muster. As always, good for a chuckle and a head shake.

I'd just like to throw out there that Elvis is not one of those names because...Presley or Costello?
