mr o'sham, your need to create a new ID in order to cyber stalk me worries and flatters in equal measure.....have i really got to you to a degree that you feel the need to go to the trouble of creating a fake ID?
ps - i don;t think "nurse" has been with your pills today has she?, and i bet you're starting to wonder why all your pullovers/jackets fasten at the back
anyway, thank you

I can't log in under my usual moniker for some reason. I've Probably been banned because of my over use of The C Word (that's cunt to anyone who hasn't been following). I must say you're comebacks are a blast from the internet past. First it's my sexual activity and then my mental state. Well played sir. So to play along... Nazi!
I call this a Godwin.
P.S.
Pullovers don't have fasteners.

1. when we talk about abuse etc etc....i wasn't the one who got banned,... you were!!!
2. or were you actually banned? perhaps it was another part of a fantasy to create a notoriety of sorts...or just delusion?
3. cuNTsKi ??? really??? as i said before "worrying and flattering in equal measure"
4. "blast from the internet past" - well if that's the case then you have been down these roads before, and still haven't learned....perhaps my "nurse" and "pills" comments was closer to the truth than we both realise
i'm disengaging myself from your argument...life's too short for this, it's my own fault....discussing things with you is like throwing bread to the pigeons in trafalgar square then wondering why i end up covered in pigeon shit
you have my permission to continue this argument...but from now on it'll be alone...or with the voices in your head.
:-)

Won´t Get Fooled Again

^^^^ that's a good shout, but i think Blackmore's guitar and Dios vocals edge out Daltrey & Townsend...

Hmm I´m a fan of Dio period Rainbow but I can´t think of anything they recorded that was of a similar stature to WGFA.

as i said...i voted for "stargazer" by rainbow...two weeks ago
ok, i humour you and look at the two songs "won't get fooled again" vs "stargazer" - both are 9min+ rock epics
so worth a comparison
1. tune
the arrangement of stargazer beats wgfa by miles - more intricate, certainly more interesting and changes in and out of the main melody are more complex
2. guitars:
ritchie's guitar work on this tracks is much more interesting (eastern euopean/turkish with asian slants) than townsends typical windmills
3. vocals:
listen to the L.A. mix of stargazer - it's impressive what he (dio) does - as opposed to Roger D's (lack of) range on wgfa
4. drums
as good as KM was...wgfa is not his best drum track...but stargazer has a definitive Cozy drumming stamped all over it
5. keyboards:
PT's progammed keys were good but - as he explained on the "classic albums" series..it was all very easy to do...tony carey - not the most famous keys player...but certainly did some impressive stuff on stargazer
6. lyric
both songs have a very good lyric
although something very insincere about art school lads tellign a tale of urban destruction and the breakdown of society...rainbow's "babel tower" story form the bible is also a bit out of it...but both are very good lyrically

And yet Won´t get Fooled Again remains an iconic song which has touched three generations of Music fans while Stargazer is just a reasonably popular song amongst heavy rock fans of a certain age..
brENsKi · Member since
as i've said in another thread...it's subjective
but you did kind of beat yourself with your own argument...you said "an iconic song which has touched three generations of MUSIC fans"
the poll is the "greatest Rock Song ever"
Bigfish · Member since
Isn´t the true worth of the greatest Rock songs that they are able to escape their genre and gain notoriety with a much wider audience ?
brENsKi · Member since
you won't let it go will you? i said it's subjective...i love WGFA - read my comments about it, whereas i think Stargazer is a superior rock track, in most ways

I have now re aqainted myself with Stargazer after more years than I care to mention and hopefully it´ll be a few more before I hear it again. I have to say I found it all a little tedious. A sub Zeppelin sword and sorcery romp but without the swagger of the before mentioned group. Then again I can understand it having some sentimental popularity amongst metal fans I suppose and as you say it is all subjective.

it's nothing like metal...one thing rainbow were not was metal
Bigfish · Member since
Oh no not the old metal or not metal argument.. ABSOLUTELY hilarious..
