Haha Bob!
You DON'T need to invent lineage to get past Dime.
On the one hand they are unbelievably strict to the point of stupidity, but on the other hand they are unbelievably stupid and quite happily allow lineages that simply say "I have no lineage. I got it in a trade some years back...."

You try and do their job for a day, FOR FREE, and see how well you do. You just show you haven't a clue what they have to put up with every day.
Yes, filesets with no lineage are alowed, but as soon as a new version with proper lineage apears, they are pulled.
They relax the rules when they can are are strict when they have to be.

thank you for sharing this version!
I don't remember very well, but it's late was not recorded the night before from the rest of the bootleg?
Naturally it's impossible to know, but the sound quality is identical. Same taper, location, EQ, everything.
Until a complete non-bootleg source of either night pops up, we'll never truly know.

Is there any need to share every QZ recording on dime as well?
Certainly not. But this version of the Sapporo show was specifically mentioned in a recent thread where the silvers were seeded, so I thought it'd be a good idea to get it up there.
But it's not a bad idea to bring all the *good-sounding* Queen shows there. For many years, Queen recordings have been notorious for sounding bad because Queen collectors didn't start to actively seek and spread low-gen audience tapes until a few years ago. So it wouldn't hurt to get the high quality tapes over there for the Queen crowd to enjoy.

I am
Sorry if this is a stupid question: but what is the problem if a cdr is 5 or more cdr generations away from the first copy. It is a 100%digital copy isn't it ? So why worrie about this ?
The Real Wizard · Member since
There is a slight chance that the rip may not go smoothly, as digital artifacts can be introduced either because a disc is old, or maybe even if you're doing many tasks at once.
Aside from that, it's just a matter of thinking that if a silver exists, then go find it. Why have a multi-gen copy if you can get it straight from the source?
I don't take things so far myself, but I can understand how others do if they're purists to that extent.
