Full 4:3 frame is on the filmnegative in the Hungarian Filmarchive...There was no cropped the sides for the vhs release.

So, can we still hope for full Budapest DVD or Blu Ray release????
Get your head down baby - we're gonna ride tonight...
Full frame, not full film :-(
I've mentioned this before but it may still be of interest.
I discovered a while back when watching some wide screen blu-ray discs that my TV was actually cropping the image.
I changed my TV setting from 16:9 to 'full screen' and was pleased to see the complete image on the screen.
I always now watch my wide screen discs and Freeview HDTV in 'full screen' mode as a result.
This will only work if your DVD / Blu-ray player or HDTV receiver is connected to your TV via HDMI (or component) and ALSO that your TV allows you to select the 'Full screen' option.
Take a look at how much more of the Montreal concert you can actually see.
The aspect ratio remains correct on widescreen discs.
Enjoy.
