He sings medley of We Are the Champions, Somebody to Love, Tie Your Mother Down, Crazy Little Thing Called Love and We Will Rock You.

What do you guys think of this guy? Does the video deserve the title "how to sing like F.M."?

Personally I think he sounds very Freddie like in some places, but overall he is too raspy and husky. Maybe fitting for example The Miracle songs.
His high notes are very good!

Without watching I assume this is the Ken Tamplin video? He is demonstrating how to sing like Freddie NOT sound like Freddie.

He's got some voice, watch his version of Run To The Hills.

Yeah, I saw this a while back and was WTF? at first. Then I realized that he literally meant sing like Freddie, as in technique-wise, and not sound like Freddie.

Like someone youtuber replied: "Freddie with a cold" :D

Yes it's a Ken Tamplin video. There's also more these "how to sing like" videos, he has covered Steve Perry, Brian Johnson, Bruno Mars, Robert Plant etc, some are good some aren't, usually mixed comments from youtubers.

Like Bad Seed and AdamMethos mentioned, his thing is the technique, not the sound.

Ken is obviously a very good singer who has mastered the technique of head voice / mix. The only issue is that his voice isn't really suited for Queen. Especially pre 82 Queen. Nevertheless, he performs excellent renditions with the voice he has.

Ken also sells singing lessons, in fact these How to sing like vids are only there for marketing those lessons. I love singing, but I have huge reservations about any "taped" lessons. Without an instructor to hear what you're doing, you run a good risk of ruining what you had before starting.
What can i say? Queen RULZ!

Opps...oh dear that was me im dbx125. I wasn't trying to be rude to the guy but that's just the first thought I had when I heard him.

IMO, he's a good singer but he doesn't have a good voice, as in, he sings well technically but his voice isn't one I would pay to hear.

I seen that before
he neither sounds like or sings like

His "Paul Rodgers" isn't that bad.

Ken Tamplin is the only other Christian Rock performer I've listened to other than Marc/Downhere (much more 'rock' in his performances, however ;))

This, with JSS (and Howie Simon)  - I love:

I like the song but I would have preferred JSS to sing all of it. ;-)

What strange coincidences. Ken and Marc are Christian rock and they've both worked with Jeff, then stir in the Queen connection...

I agree, Ken Tamplin does a KILLER version of Freddie.

How do you guys paste a clickable link? I've never been able to figure that out -- does the advanced editor work for you?

You can always manually wrap it in bbcode, as in "[ url=yourlinkhere ] yourlinkorcustomtexthere [ /url]". Just remove the spaces.

It's quite a feat that this forum goes on considering how broken it is, both technically and in other regards.
