EMI sold to Universal

It's just been announced that EMI Records has been bought by Universal.

It must be said that the timing of Queen's EMI contract running out was good, and they did a tidy bit of business last year when getting a walloping sum of cash to go to Universal, when if they hadn't, they'd have ended up there now anyway!

I must admit that did make me chuckle, they will not have been aware who could have ended up with EMI at the time but its certainly all about the timing
