That actually wouldn't be entirely unbelievable.

Ooh no, Brian would never admit to that. Freddie's favourite drummer was clearly Cozy Powell though! :-)

Roger Taylor has a new song that will be called "Smile"?! Why would he do that when he was from a group called "Smile"? Hmmm. I don't know what to think of that.

Ermmm....because the word Smile doesn't just have the connotation of the name of a 1960's band that no-one knows of, but is also a commonly known and understood word with another expressive and emotive meaning, which gives perfect opportunity to be written about in song?!?

Why would he have a song called "Liar" on his solo project when Queen had one? Why would he consider calling a song Tear It Up when Queen had one?
It's just a title of a song....

Come to think of it, Queen had an album called Sheer Heart Attack and then had a song later on called Sheer Heart Attack. Now why would they do that? .....lol!
Eric Stewart, formerly of 10CC, did a similar thing on his last two solo albums. First came the album Do Not Bend, then came the song. In that case, it was simply because a fan asked why there wasn't a song of that name on the album, so Eric decided he would make a song with that name on his next one. And he did!

Wow. Lol. Those reasons make sense. Obviously "Liar" was a cover version of the Queen song was it not? I have not heard it yet. BUT I would imagine in future Queen documentaries the song "Smile" will always be played in the beginning because no one is going to get that it is not something to do with the group. How strange. So no. In Rogers case it is maybe o.k. and could be fun...but I hardly dought people will not think that the song MIGHT have something to do with the early line-up of Queen.

Nope. Completely different song entirely.
And I really doubt that most people would make any real connection between a Roger Taylor song called Smile that's released in 2013 and a semi-pro band name from the late 60s. But that's just me.
