Did these tracks ever get shared here?

No and AFAIK the people who attended the convention were specifically asked NOT to record it

Apparently, at a recent Queen fan convention, two new songs by Roger called I'm a Drummer in a Rock 'n' Roll Band and Smile were previewed (based on the titles, I'm guessing they're both pretty autobiographical). They will probably be included in Roger's fabled solo album that's supposed to be coming out later this year.

I hadn't realized that fans were asked not to record it. I guess that would explain why I'm not finding any traces of either song on YouTube.

Did anybody here attend that particular event and, if so, do you know anything about the tracks? Or are you sworn to secrecy? :)

Yes, people who have attended the last two QFC Conventions here in the UK have been asked not to record and share these two new and unreleased RT tracks.
It seems that people have respected this wish and gives the opportunity of hearing more tracks in the future.

Indeed so. I'm not even aware of any of my collector friends having even a sample recording of the samples played :-D

"Smile" is very like "Happiness" in style - infact when I first heard it I thought it was a demo for that very track.

"I'm a drummer" is a more upbeat track.

Sadly, based on these two tracks and "Unblinking Eye", I'm expecting another album like the last two as opposed to something more akin to his 80's works.

Now. If we could get Brian to write the songs and Roger to sing them, that would be ideal....

Sounds like it could be a new project called "Queen -"................."Queen - Freddie & John" ???

I thought Smile was very Beatlesesque...Nice piano, and nice celestial Rog vocals.

Drummer is a grower. It is definitely tongue in cheek...but still a bit wordy. I wasn't a huge fan of it...but it also didn't seem quite finished so I will hold off until I hear it in full (if it makes the album that is).

The tracks definitely reminded me of Happiness though as well...but unlike mr. wig, I'm happy for that. I dig the 80s Rog stuff as well but I was equally happy with both Happiness and Electric Fire...
