That's true. And I reckon that's why Queen albums started to sell their tits off when the rest of the rock community saw how much better they were than the other acts.

Not a vegan, that's for sure! But maybe a vegan did say something like "Chicken Feed Babe".
colonel sanders?
Think he only became vegan and stopped eating meat after he passed on. Not sure if he also became chicked feed as well after that though. But I guess that would account for that outbreak of "mad chicken disease" after his death though....lol.

Ooooh, I see what you did there!
I guess Fried Chicken fit better than Watermelon or something ;).

I didn't "do" 'nutthin'
Part of Amerikkkan history and its progeny.
Its surely become extended thanks to music fans and its popularity around the world.
S' a damn pity no one really has "muse-sick-n-hour-mess-age" anymore.
But seriously, I'm sure it probably STUCK cause of a "bad sense of humor" from Fred.
I think its funny. But until I'd seen "the magic years" (bought on ebay from import vhs) I had no idea "One Vision" was based IN WRITING/THEME upon MLK JR.
Seems more appropriate in that sense (if you believe it or not)
That that was a deliberate joke
"Let's test the water! This is funny!"
"No, but its so stupidly offensive!"
"Yes!, but it will take the balance off the seriousness! We aren't a preachy band after all are we?... Who knows, in ten years' time James Hetfield's favorite pseudo-Nazi band might cover OUR song and turn it into an anthem for one world rule under a fourth reich. We HAVE to throw a monkey wrench in there to oppose that possibility"
"Fred,.... I think you're right, you bloody fucker!" (No pun intended on Roger's part)
... At least... That's how I see it.
Me thinks humor was at play.
Just my two cents.

Given that the song is linked to Live Aid (to the point that the Press were asking if it was going to be a charity single) and given it;s lyrics and what it's supposed to be about, the fried chicken lyrics are incredibly tasteless. It's crass things like this that made much of the British music press hate them.

Can you point to 1 source where the British press suggested that the fried chicken line was tasteless?

No. But that's not what I said. "crass things like this" i.e. Queen's perceived arrogance, stupidity, lack of substance.

Just asking...

I said "British music press".
Anyway, Martin Luther King, starvation and fried chicken. Hilarious.

Starvation?
*exploitation, rape, legal crimes and a foundation of lies and schemes and resultant racial psychosis/schism.
Anyways, yeah, to an outsider it might be trivial. I've seen it and experienced it and dealt with it firsthand.
I still think it was an attempt to take the "edge" (as in a "stance") off the recording.
Me thinks this is so polarizing it should be asked on BM's soapbox.
Or at least tagged upon his soapbox.... In black shoe polish
*pollack

Its extremely offensive and racist. To reduce all of Martin Luther Kings Jrs thoughts as to really just wanting fried chicken. His one vision was Fries Chicken. How dare that AIDS infested faggot

I always thought it came out of that jam and spitting-out-random-lyrics sessions caught on tape @ the mini documentary> singing bout the take-out menu is nothing new after all

As i was saying!
*well, except for the AIDS infested faggot. Yeah, don't always have to agree with what some artists do so long as the art spoke of something.
It WAS pretty offensive if it was to be interpreted that way (which i seriously believe it was meant to be)
i just dont know why they included it. Anyways. Someone's said it up there ^^ about the press ragging on their disregard for things.
Although Fred has a reputation of being generous... i think that was a pretty derogatory thing to utilize. Ignorant sounding shiite.
Someone should ask Brian May on his soapbox if it was an off color remark about black people.
