Eminem Sings Classic Queen Hook on Skylar Grey's New Single

On December 11th, Skylar Grey will release "C'Mon Let Me Ride," the lead single from her debut album Don't Look Down. The playful pop tune, which Grey calls "an X-rated kids' song," features Eminem singing a famous refrain: the hook of Queen's "Bicycle Race."

Well OP is right. Its eminem were talking about here. Rap is talentless shit. All it is , is talking and ryhming over shitty computer beats. oh ya, dont forget endless samples...in this case, it happens to be queen.

Eminem isn't the only successful rapper at the moment at all, though he's probably by far the most successful overall. I used to be quite a fan of his. Now I'm conflicted, having found interest in better music in recent years. Rap definitely does require less talent to PERFORM, granted, though some rappers have very well crafted lyrics, enough so that it could pass as respectable and thought provoking poetry in a different context. Not saying Eminem has that sort of subtlety though, just that rap probably shouldn't be outright disregarded as a respectable form of music. I wouldn't consider myself someone who enjoys that sort of music nowadays anyway - I was 13 and I'm now past that.

Eminem's sampled Queen to a certain extent before - the song 'Beautiful' uses the introductory lines of the benefit single 'Reaching Out' with Brian & Paul Rodgers, the sample being credited to Q+PR I believe. This Bicycle Race business should be.. interesting to hear though.

whether you like rap or not, it's poetry - with a modern edge.
there is nothing wrong with saying "i can't stand rap" or "i just don't get it" or even "it does nothign for me"
but you can't say it's "crap - that's unfair, and missing the point
i'd say that those who dismiss it as "crap" have no poetry in their soul at all
