Hi, I'm here because I need your help!

I've got a kid who's into music and is currently discovering The Queen thanks to one particular London Olympics opening ceremony gig. I've been trying to get the kid into reading as well; and the title of Blake's book sounds kind of engaging.

Has anybody here read this book? Is it a good read?

Thank you very much.

I have never heard of the book yo mentioned, but this one should be ok for a kid to read:

'Queen - As it began' by Jacky Gunn. Should be quite chep if you buy it used.

yh that one is full of sex
better off with as it began
It is a hard thing to accept, but one must remind oneself that due to Queen's massive worldwide appeal, the vast majority of their fans are infact very ordinary and not in the least bit *exceptional,

Oh, dear.
Certainly the kid keeps discovering R-rated stuff bit by bit, but it might be awkward to receive this from your Mamma XD

That other book, Queen - As it Begun, isn't it decent to the degree that it is, well... boring?

I read 'as it begun' way back when I was 14 years old and I did not consider it as boring.

As it began is not boring, its indepth factual and also entertaining, but isnt as "entertaining" as musical jurnal-ists celebrity scandal style, sex lies and bullshit and things best not repeated...etc.

Nope, the kid isn’t into celeb nuisance, he’s just a Southpark fan XD
I think As it Begun will do.

I did some alternative research on Blake’s book while waiting for answers, so here’s for those who haven’t heard about this book and possibly would like to:

http://www.artcornwall.org/interviews/Mark_Blake_Queen.htm

this is a promo interview with the author, which actually sounds decent by the way, and

http://stereosubversion.com/reviews/mark-blake-is-this-the-real-life-the-untold-story-of-queen

quite a detailed review. It doesn’t say how full of sex the book really is (maybe I should buy it to find out myself but I somehow feel my life isn’t long enough to waste it on this) but it certainly sounds like a book not for a beginner.
