'Rare Share: Queen Collectibles' - NEW YouTube channel.

If it was my job to catalogue truly rare official merchandise out there, and perhaps approach people who have certain items, this sounds like a great idea, with you-tube providing direct contact to anyone who up's something interesting.

Sounds kinda pointless to me, maybe we are just the wrong target audience.

Surely this site is doing what the now almost mythical 'I Want It All' book should be?

I agree with the above post that a website which features all this would be better than some dweeb in front of his mum's video camera holding up an old tissue, saying 'this was discarded by Paul Rodgers after playing with Brian May and it's my most prized possession".......

You know, this was my inicial thought, because other than that, this is a pointless project - for my personal taste!

Having said this i think this is a very good way of trying to put everything in the same place. I don´t think it´s a lazy-fuck way, but probably the most eficient way in doing so these days. It´s very clever!

The only problem i have is why don´t they market it as what it really is? People would be more than willing to help you guys.

I don´t know if yoy guys (GT and Greg Brooks) think you´re clever, or you just think Queen fans are stupid, but you have to work on your comunication with the fans. If you talk from the heart and be honest with fans you will receive back probably more than what you expect.

Unfortunately, every time i see something related to Greg Brooks, it never seems to be what it appears. A relation between a band and it´s fans is not just about taking, taking, taking. It´s about giving as well. In this case we don´t ask for nothing in return other than information. You guys want information, why not giving something back?
Why not make this a conversation, other than a one way comunication?

Rhys Thomas is a fine example of this, he´s honest in his comunication with the fans. He doesn´t hold back, and at least doesn´t try to misdirect fans with vague answers.
The audio department have somethings to learn from the video department in this issue.

I don´t have anything against you in personal GT, but i don´t like to see people use the love fans have for Queen in this condescending way. I have nothing against this project, i just don´t agree with the way you guys market it.

You say it´s made by fans for the fans and collectors, but it´s obvious that you´re gonna contact the owners of the items of interest to you privately. What happens in the backstage it´s not of my business but by adding an extra paragraph to this "press" release would make it much more honest. It´s the secrecy i can´t stand! And coming from the audio people this seems to go on forever.

And by the way, it´s gonna be funny to watch queen related videos on Youtube 2012 in a Queen channel without Queen music! - Old thinking!!! But makes me think that this is probably a project you guys have outside QP, i´m i right?

It really doesn´t matter if i´m right or wrong, the thing is:

Threat fans with respect and not like dogs!
I only see you guys give something when you need something back. Now you´re gonna show 18 rare items, but why only now? And why does it have to be in a project? Once you have what you´re looking for you move on. Not even a nice reply in the biggest Queen fan site on the internet. You guys never give information, you only negotiate information!

Queen fans are the best! I owe everything -Queen related - to them. Just go to the Queen Announce section. It´s heaven!
And this is why i´m replying the way i am. Because once again they´re gonna share and support a project coming from people who have showed little respect in the past for those same fans, in this case Greg Brooks.

This is definately a project i won´t bother to support!

Because of Christmas and the new year holidays, the last part of getting this channel up and running has put us back a little, but it will still be happening.
