Fred of course said all his songs were about love. Not completely accurate, but not far off. Wasn't that always pretty much so? There are probably much, much better explanations for his personal and professional evolution than the fact that he didn't read books.

As for the quote, it was from the mid 80s, during a time when nearly every song he wrote was on that topic. You definitely couldn't say the same for 1975.

concise book on roman and Greek mythology a notoriously intellectual and very deep subject which spans both cultural & historical interests and is scattered throughout the great arts and literature, so there.
