but,

i remember just before christmas 75 - ITV ran an advert for ANATO
i remember (vaguely) a lot of repitition in the voiceover - and (i think) the voice was supplied by a radio 1 DJ - alan freeman?

I've been searching YouTube. So far, I've found this one for The Miracle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wr5OshzP2Tg

And this hilarious one for Greatest Video Hits II: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14j_RqZVAJM&playnext=1&list=PL817D1963D49FD313&feature=results_main

I'll see if I can find any more.

Update: Here's a nice one of Made in Heaven: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RD-Dw3Q62zo

I'll never forget seeing the Queen's Greatest Hits TV way back in Oct/Nov '81.....Starting witha clip from WATC and the voice over....'EMI PROUDLY PRESENTS...'
I used to try and catch it on every ad break!

Back in those days it was quite rare to see Queen on TV and VCRs were for the well off and there was no MTV, so for some fans like me, this and the odd showing off a queen vid on TOTP or Sat morning TV was as good as it got.
Oh how things have moved on!

"Jazz, with Queen's electrifying hit singles: Bicycle Race and Fat Bottomed Girls."

Hey, you stupid monotone announcer guy, Don't Stop Me Now is more "electrifying" than either of those two tracks!

EDIT: Awesome, QZ's comment system made this post look not right at all.

no hot space?
It is a hard thing to accept, but one must remind oneself that due to Queen's massive worldwide appeal, the vast majority of their fans are infact very ordinary and not in the least bit *exceptional,

That's fantastic, haha.

Some of the old ones are so bland, I can't see how they'd turn anyone on to buying the record.
