I'm guessing Greg may know but does anybody have a clue when it was Freddie changed to lyrics to "stop to all that shouting and fighting going on"

Was it always the case ? as these lyrics do flow better compared the studio recording

It was one Tuesday night. I can't be more specific than that.

Sorry. I'm useless.

studio is one thing, live is another

think it's simple case of what can be sung quickly live - the studio lyric of this song is difficult enough (unless you;re Seizure Moment)
so rewriting for the stage is the logical choice
think about the speed of Don;t Stop me Now and how quickly it got dropped from the set
listen to it during the Live Killers Tour and you'd hear Freddie almost slurring the chorus

some things just can't be sung quickly live - so change em or drop em completely

Great answers Brenski and GB.... It must have been a tuesday, cause very few of us were paying attention.

I always assumed it was due to language "barriers"...seeing how "grousing" and "sniping" invoke images of the insect world and hunting world respectively...

They probably toured america and had the question posed once or twice.... "What the hell is sniping and grousing???"

.... "IS IT DIRTY????!!"

(Just a guess)

True story.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

I was waiting for someone to say that.
These are the days of our lives They've flown in the swiftness of time.

Lol. Classic response.

I only wish there woulda been some resolution or at least a couple other suggestions regarding the actual topic.

I think the sound for "sniping and grousing" is too low for the words to be heard clearly in the song. That could be the reason for changing it "fighting and shouting".

adding to what i said above re: DSMN on live killers, there's also bits of the medley where freddie struggles with articulating lyrics correctly - due to actual speed
of the songs...that being bicycle race...it too suffers, and i don't think it got beyond the LK tour, whereas the AA-side Fat Bottomed Girls (much slower) did continue to later tours

coincidence? don't think so. think it's all down to the speed of the song and how difficult lyrics are to articulate at speed in a live situation

Amazing live song, im not the biggest Queen fan in the world, but they are the first band/artists i ever heard at the age of 4, hence my Queen logo tattoo!
