Hopefully this is just a preview for the pending official release Brian May mentioned last week.
This show was part of a (limitedly available) official VHS release called "Live At The Rainbow" - a compilation of the two nights, although in mono sound. These three tracks are from an uncut stereo recording of the first night - a major upgrade that emerged in 2010. For many years these tracks were labeled as November 20, but the footage in the Days Of Our Lives documentary of the power going out during Liar was confirmed to be from the second night.
These tracks from the Trident reel-to-reel first saw the light of day in the 90s. They were intended to be broadcast on the radio in the 90s, and this copy comes from the tape that was given to the radio station. Earlier copies that circulated had more tape generations, and thus more tape hiss.
A couple small bits of speech between tracks were missing on this version (likely a digital copy error - let's keep in mind it was 90s CDRs, from a time when CD burning software regularly clipped beginnings and endings of songs), so I have mixed in the awol bits of Freddie's banter from one of the inferior copies. I also removed digi-clicks throughout the recording. Until this show is properly released, this is likely the best we'll ever hear for these three tracks. Essential listening.
Thanks to "Ghostofasmile" for making the tracks available to begin with.
