Did Queen 'borrow' the idea for the Graphic Design for the Magic Tour from Vauxhall advertisement in the 1930's/40's?
The similarities are obvious but an important observation.
Perhaps this is why Brian May said this was the only tour they never made a profit on because there could have been some unknown lawsuit against them?

The Magic Tour?

i can't see any similarity between the two images - except for the use of ocre/beige shades
and on that basis then almost every dulux paint chart opens them to copyright infringement
you need a lie down

It is just a joke that the tours weren't making any profit.
Most of the tours did make a profit. Somehow BM wants to keep on telling this joke.
Even 79 shows were sponsored. Like thge Brussels and Rotterdam...

So essentially, the topic starter believes that all Jugendstil paintings are copyright infringements of some cheap Vauxhall-ad?

The pictures bear no similarities, and the queen pass is not from the Magic Tour! Besides, I thought the Magic tour was the first one they DID make a profit on???

it's a well-known fact that in those days bands toured to promote album sales.....the tours were usually a loss
it's only since the advertising/sponsorship era of the mid 80s that bands made any money from touring.
of course, these days it's reversed....tours make the money that album sales no longer do
