I don't know how these silly internet rumors get started. The real story is that John was on a family holiday at a very nice resort in Switzerland. He forgot to pack a personal item, and as it was pretty early in the morning, he decided to risk going to the gift shop in the lobby. Well, some idiot walked by John and his clumpy ski boots bumped into the back of John's foot. Yes, there was pain initially. Swear words were heard by bystanders who spoke English quite well, and there was a lost personal item, but there was no broken leg. Ridiculous!
Going skiing next week... Would be nice to bump into John. So many things to ask...
