"I believe I've read something where he said that he felt if he just went and cut it like he'd be backing away from something"
On the contrary I think he'd be moving forward into pastures new.
You're never too old for that.
Memory Lane is a great place to visit but you shouldn't live there.

Imagine it though, having very long hair for 40 years, then suddenly not. You'd feel naked, vulnerable and generally awful, at least for a while.

i think he should shave it all off, wear a leotard and tour performing Hot Space in it's entitity.
Maybe encore with 'Delilah'.
I'd pay to see that.

Am I the only one who thought his hair turning grey was really sudden? I sort of suspect that it had been going grey for a while, and eventually he just decided to stop dying it black, resulting in a very sudden change as far as the public can see.

Yeah, I noticed that too. One day I was checking out his soapbox and was like, "Oh, his hair's going gray." Then suddenly it's white.

Yep, no doubt about it! He hid it for a few or maybe more years, and then decided to go natural. It sort of seems appropriate in a way cos Brian always seemed to me to have that hippie look going because of his long hair. And what hippie would die their hair? ....lol.
