Today, I bought Freddie Mercury - "Love me like there's no tomorrow" on 7". I've never seen it before, and I paid about 20£ at a second hand store. All the other Freddie Mercury 7" they had cost about 4£ each. So is it rare?

Here's a link to the cover:

Same company has another for sale at the same price http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Love-Me-Like-Theres-No-Tomorrow-UK-7-vinyl-single-record-A6725-CBS-1985-/271142593367?_trksid=p2047675.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D11%26meid%3D5060251999099282003%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D1005%26rk%3D2%26sd%3D271125132315%26

Looks like you might have grabbed a wee bargain there, not sure how rare it is though. Some more info on formats etc here http://www.musicstack.com/pgt.cgi?titlesort=hl&artist=freddie+mercury&title=love+me+like+theres+no+tomorrow&format=

EIL seems to be selling it for £35, which means it's real price is currently somewhere around £20.

But it's all about whether you are happy with the purchase.
I bought mine for around £50 back in 2005, and I'm happy with that.

Great - thanks a lot for the info!

@ tero! 48531: Yes, I'm very happy with the purchase - I like the song, and as I mentioned, I've never seen it until today, so that's great!

A guy had come in to the second hand store with about 45 Queen related singles (7"), I have most of them, but there were some cool stuff there. A bunch of Japanese singles, like Teo Torriatte, Killer Queen, Bicycle Race (with Japanese writing), but they were quite expansive - about 25 - 30£ each.

Here's a link to the Teo Torriatte single - do you happen to know what it's worth? Or if it's "cool" to own it?

I hate the feeling of regret of NOT buying singles when I see them (If I can't find them later).

I got these four 7" for about 35£ all together:

Freddie Mercury - Love me like there's no tomorrow (20£)
Brian May + friends - Star Fleet project (8£)
Queen - Scandal (8£)
Freddie Mercury - Living on my own (No More Brothers) (3£)

That's actually 39£, but I got a discount since I bought 4.

really hard to find, maybe because the single charts only 76 in UK single charts, summarizing, The less success for the single, will be rare to find him in the future.

It's "cool" to own them if you like collecting vinyl singles!
Japanese singles are good because they stay in better shape (because of the separate leaflet), they have unique cover art, and occasionally some funny translations for lyrics.

I have about 15 Japanese singles, all of which cost around £20 when I bought them a decade ago... So it would seem they are holding their value quite nicely as well, which is a bonus. I think I paid about twice as much for Teo Torriatte compared to others, but I suppose that's what you get for a Japan-exclusive single.

I don't understand why anyone needs other people to tell them what's 'cool' and what isn't. I happen to think most of the Japanese products look great. I used to have a few 7" singles but traded them away ages ago. Regret it now. They were sweet. Trust your own judgement.

ps Led Zep are cool! Buy, buy, buy!

All this talk of vinyl is giving me the itch to get back into collecting them, kicked that habit some years ago as it was going a bit too far. Last one I bought was one of the unnumbered purple Bo Rap fan Club vinyl's, a sure sign you are getting too into it. I am ashamed to admit I do not own a Led Zep vinyl, yet.....

Damn you all!!!!! :)

It's not rare, but always seems to fetch a decent price. That said, I paid just £4 for a near mint copy a few years ago at a store in glasgow, and got an excellent copy of the 12", along with the South African "live" lp for £20 in total at a store in St. Andrews. Now THAT was a bargain lol. Btw, absolutely love that song....and a nice sleeve too!

Thanks again for all the info!

@Holly2003: I agree that is stupid to ask if something is "cool" to own, it's my first time. I just wasn't sure about the Japanese singles. I'm first of all interested in getting all the UK 7"s.
