One night of Queen
performed by
Gary Mullen and the Works
2013-01-23
Mozartsaal Rosengarten Mannheim
Germany
Love it or hate it - take it or leave it. I've never been a friend of Queen cover music. Though I know recordings of former performances of GM I was simply impressed by this so I'd like to share it - complete - lossless - not a re-release - no Adam Lambert - just good music! If you don't like it, don't let me know.
Equipment: CA 14 cardiods - CA ugly battery box - Sony PCM-M10
Lineage: line in (wav 48kHz/24bit) - Audacity volume boost (wav 44kHz/16bit) - Trader's little helper (flac level 8)
source: audience
position: 9th row, centre
quality: excellent
performance: amazing, Gary's voice in great shape
minus: Gary insulting people in the front row for not standing up and freaking out

As I've said before, I'd like to see your own established cover band then, sonny boy. Either step up to the challenge or piss off.

Interesting recording! Very big sound to it. Good performance so far from what I'm hearing. However it sounds a bit muffled around the high end, and has a swishy lossy sound. Was there any hiss removal or post-processing done to this?

Indeed! Sound was not very loud this evening and I did the recording without my preamp so I had to add some dB gain in post processing followed by some slight hiss reduction. Didn't expect to need a preamp in the 9th row :-) and did not intend to share it but the show was really great and there are not too much GM recordings out there so I changed my mind.
