If there is someone, would you mind recording at the highest bitrate option on your DVD recorder please (unless you can capture the stream itself?)
A proper high-quality mpeg2 recording is a far better option than the inevitable crappy Youtube download...

Can't promise anything, but my friend in Hungary says he will try to cap it via satellite feed. Depends on the weather, he says, as apparently they're expecting bad weather tomorrow and that can really mess with the signal.

Hell, I live in the UK and can't even get it through Sky as it's an encrypted channel which the Irish need a special viewing card for.
If your friend is who i think it is, then we can expect the best quality :)

So. Did anyone get an off-air recording or are we all stuck forever with shitty internet based copies?

I'm sure Brian was biting his tongue about the Slane Castle 86' concert when the dude asked him how great and crazy the crowd was. They didn't talk about Brian getting hit with a beer can or Freddie stopping the concert because of a near riot in the crowd, and later Freddie's statement about Queen are never going to play there again.

So he managed to cap it, it seems! Downloading the entire .TS file for the show via private torrent, and then I'll repost it here once that's done

Update: Indeed the entire episode was capped, standard PAL widescreen resolution with MP2 audio, really good quality! However as expected there are some minor glitches here and there due to the satellite feed that aren't as easily fixable in a straight up linear manner like it was with the Taratata TV show upload which I'd previously fixed, which translates to some major playback issues as evidenced by the fact I cannot easily get the TS file to play in VLC but yet it will play decently in Media Player Classic.
I'll have to re-encode the video which shouldn't be an issue with TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress, but I'll make sure the settings are as high as possible to retain quality. Audio will be converted to PCM to avoid transcoding.
