When will Forumites learn that Queen - as a band that releases NEW PRODUCT - has ceased to exist. There is no large market for the material the minority of us on here wants to see out there. QPL and Island are only interested in SALES and the resulting revenues. They can't pay their collective morgtages on a couple of hundred thousand sales of a rarities set or 70's concert.[/QUOTE]

Here's the news mate. They don't have mortgages. They're fuckin loaded beyond comprehension.

A little payback in the form of releasing what the core fans want wouldn't go amiss instead of chasing every available dollar in increasingly vulgar desparation.
No Freddie, No John.....No Queen

I think you will find there is demand for Queen still, dont forget they always top the polls, and according to record collector they are number one!
Queens management are the problem here they just dont listen to what the fans want!
I agree we dont want anymore greatest hits, what we want is more unreleased tracks and things we havnt heard or seen.
According to freddie, on the bank holiday radio one "miracle" special in 1989, he said there was lots of unfinished tracks running around, so surely i believe Brian and Rog are fibbing when they say theres no more material left!
We all know there is!

Weird question...does Universal own Eagle Rock? Is that why all the DVD's here in the States are being released on that label? Or does HR own Eagle Rock?

I hope it has them on the cover when they all looked like transvestites all gaaay and shit! I LOVE that shit!

I'm also ready for the tracklisting to be announced. I'm TIRED of waiting for that.

With THAT all elloquently stated and put I would like to warn people who are not familiar with the "Icon" series that they are usually wimpy, lacking, disapointing, a let down, generic budget compilations with hardly any liner notes and even less photos and artwork. They usually run ten songs a disc and about that many per two discs each (with something like 20 total) if they are a two disc set. Sucks doesn't it? But in someways this will be good for Queen I'm sure. This keeps them alive and on the market and in the public consciousness.

So is there some purple people eater knocking you all off or something? I'll go ahead and get it on with what I think the tracklisting should be...and I will let it serve awefully close to my prediction as well...here it goes!

Disc One:

Seven Seas Of Rhye
Killer Queen
Bohemian Rhapsody
You're My Best Friend
Somebody To Love
We Will Rock You
We Are The Champions
Fat Bottomed Girls
Crazy Little Thing Called Love
Another One Bites The Dust
Under Pressure

Disc Two:

Radio Ga Ga
I Want To Break Free
A Kind Of Magic
Who Wants To Live Forever
I Want It All
The Miracle
These Are The Days Of Our Lives
The Show Must Go On
Too Much Love Will Kill You
Say It's Not True

(...and with 21 tracks, eh.)

well, for anyone who might choose to hope... there has been a precedent set for Queen compilations (on various labels) to include wrong masters / variants... so who knows? we may end up with a rare track by accident anyway!

Now this will be the first time that Queen have had a generic budget compilation that was part of a series being released by a record company? It will also the first compilation of any type that is part of a themed series being done by a record company for them as well, right?

Those weren't part of an ongoing series being done by a record company like Sony's "Essential..." series, Universal's "Millenium Collection: Best Of..." series, or Universals "Gold" series. Or in this case Universal's "Icon" series for artists. It's actually kind of in a way if you squint your eyes, turn your head sideways, and think about it a bit makes sense I think and becomes clearer perhaps, eh? Lol.
