Voting for I Go Crazy is hereby officially banned for at least the first five rounds, FYI.

Voted for Machines - just about spoils the album for me!
Go, Go, Go, little queenie!!
Hi, Liam and all.

I think Machines is great, so let me let you all know my humble opinion. At the time it was a groundbreaking mix of rock and tecnopop/electronic. It still stands out proudly as one of the best ever crossover between rock and electronica. It is very relevant that it was a Brian/Roger composition, as it has a real rocky edge to it. Should Queen have persued that path and correctly explored it commercially, they could have found a new place for tje band with the new generations back then. Lost opportunity.

Cheers,

I've always liked "Machines" as well. I actually think it is one of the highlights from "The Works". I like it much better than "I Go Crazy"(I know it's a b-side) which is a song that is highly revered amongst most fans.
Do you people judge the tracks released as singles in the context of the album, or tracks you heard way too often because they're hits?
We love you Mandy!
I judge the hit singles within the context of the album, which is easy as an American. The singles from the album are never played on the radio here, which is a shame because songs like "Radio Ga Ga" and "Hammer To Fall" are some of the best songs they ever made from ANY era.
I really don't mind Machines at all. The songs on The Works that bug me are Man on the Prowl and (sorry guys) It's A Hard Life. Anyway, I voted for "Thank God It's Christmas" because, frankly, it's the worst Christmas song (excluding those on Bob Dylan's recent Christmas album and everyting on a very dodgy Mambo Christmas album I was once forced to listen to) ever.
Not Plutus but Apollo rules Parnassus
I will vote for "Is this the world we created" every single round until it gets removed... Boring song, a terrible way to end the album. Only 9 tracks and this made the cut? and I go Crazy didn't?..
There are just so many to vote for/against on this album; the beginning of the end. "...Open Windows" could be Queen's worst song ever.

Totally agreed. It was probably written based on Love of My Life's live arrangement which, insane but true, works better live than in the studio. And sure enough, live performances of World are considerably more engaging than in the studio.

I didn't vote for it this round, but probably will soon.
