Here is a music video of a cover version of Don't Stop Me Now inspired by the 16-bit days of video gaming.

Eh, it's pretty good.

I kind of have a bad habit when listening to covers, especially to songs I really like. I expect the cover to follow the original as closely as possible with only very minimal changes to the performance. When they start doing things like over/undersinging, switching up some lines, or completely changing the guitar solo, I think that means its bad, even though a good cover really should usually have a somewhat different approach so that it's not boring. Once I get past that they're just doing something different and they're not disrespecting the original material at all, it's considerably easier to enjoy.

Not sure what was going on with the video, though. When I first saw this, I was reminded of the Google doodle a couple years ago of a 16-bit Freddie dancing around with DSMN playing in the background, but what I got was considerably different. That I didn't like at all. What is the point? Record labels are made of pure evil? Shut up; get off your high horse.

The drummer's name is Bryan Taylor. Interesting...

I disagree. Do you have anything else to add to that, or is that it?

It started off so well....until the line "I'm floating around in ecstasy" and then it fell apart from there.

Loved the sendup towards 16-bit Sega gaming however, visually speaking!

Oh dear could they have tried making this any worse? The singing is pretty mediocre in my opinion. Just not a good cover.
