A new edition of the '40 Years Of Queen' book, which was originally released in 2011, is now available with a purple slip case and including the full CD interview with Tom Browne at BBC Radio 1 in 1977.
10,000 copies have been produced by SevenOaks / Carlton and made available through 'The Works' stores here in the UK at a cheaper price of around £10.

So does that make it a limited edition meaning the black one is what it will be normally in the future? Is there any comparison to the numbers of the black version? Again I LOVE both covers!

I got the purple edition today and can confirm it does have the 'full' 61 min 45 sec interview on the CD.
Not sure if any other revisions have been made throughout the book itself.
I personally don't think the package quality is as good as the original release.
I also think as the CD has now been corrected a free CD replacement should be sent out to those who purchased it the first time around (if requested)

I said it before, but I say it again. I am a Star Trek fan. Last year I bought a TNG Season 1 Bluray boxset. Later I found out (on a fan site) that a couple of episodes had some problems with the DTS track - which I couldn't care LESS about. (I am watching the original stereo track) Still - they (CBS) did pull the unsold boxsets, released a fixed version a few months later. And ... they did automatically send a fixed copy to everybody who bought it online (I received mine from amazon). I really thought that it's a standard behaviour by these multi-million dollar companies. Unfortunately I was wrong.

Pittrek,
Of course, where QPL is concerned, what's STANDARD for everyone else (high quality merchandise and good customer care) is off-the-wall.
They've knocked out plenty of GH collections - a 2nd book won't break anyone's bank as far as they are concerned.

Indeed - in fact that should have been the corrective action first time around, rather than a 'DIY' mp3 version by email if you asked for it.
Still, the mistake should never have been made to start with - that's the problem with the seemingly apparent complete lack of editorial input, quality control and proof reading/checking on virtually any Queen release you care to mention across audio, visual or printed product for many many years now.

I'll make some enquiries again.
Does anyone know who manufactured the package?
It mentions WKS and GRD on theworks.co.uk, but I can't locate either company.
