Can anyone (briefly) catch me up on the history of this site?

Including things such as..

Really awesome information/threads about Queen that took place here
Really awesome troll jobs?
Really funny moments?

Basically things I should be caught up on I guess. I can tell though that it's not what it used to be. That sucks.

Hello Brandon. I'm waunakonor. Welcome to QueenZone. You could probably get the best feel for this place just by reading some discussions and jumping in, but since you asked so nicely...

As you may have picked up already, this has not been moderated at all ever since it was created. The theory is that a forum can be monitored by the people without needing to directly ban people, so users can just talk through problems and clean up any messes by themselves, whereas moderation may lead to a sort of authoritarian feel if the power is abused by those who have it. The two owners and only people who have any sort of moderating powers are Richard Orchard and YourValentine, but they came around very infrequently.

Awesome troll jobs? Awesome is one word for it. Beware of a few users here, particularly Queen fan and rocknrollover. Queen fan (often referred to as Medusa, the original name he went by) is a user who despises Sacha Baron Cohen and detests the decision to make him star in the fabled upcoming biopic about Freddie. He proposes that a French actor named Jeremy Kapone play the role instead, and he never tires of telling you about how great Jeremy is. Every time Richard or YV get around to it, Medusa gets banned, but he always comes back undiscouraged with a brand new username. Meanwhile, rocknrollover is arguably less annoying since he doesn't have an inexplicable obsession with one topic, but his English is horrible, he often resorts to using silly Queen-related puns and childish insults instead of actually contributing something, and it's very difficult to tell when to take him seriously.

A particularly infamous trolling job that's a lot more lovable than either of the two above is known as Treasure Moment. I'm pretty new around here still so I wasn't here when TM was posting regularly, but basically he's a singer with a gigantic ego who believes his talent is second only to the god known as Freddie Mercury. He now goes by Mercuryking, although he posts less frequently and seems a bit more sincere than the previous TM incarnation. (I may be wrong about some of the details in the last paragraph).

Funny moments? Like I said earlier, ask someone who's been around here longer. I'd just recommend reading this somewhat recent thread. It's great fun anytime: http://www.queenzone.com/forums/1313910/freddies-son.aspx

Have fun talking about Queen with people! Just don't take anything too seriously. Some people may say some stuff that might hurt and seem awfully rude if you take them too seriously, so have a sense of humor on you at all times. Good to have you here!

Well, waunakonor summed everything you asked about pretty nicely.

Nothing more to say here.

Welcome aboard. Enjoy the site!

Mooghead is the board stud. He had to change his picture because of all the hassle he got from all the sex pests here... of which there are many......

Your new picture is even sexier. I can barely contain myself every time I see you post somewhere.
