If you listen to fight from the inside and then listen to 'life in the fast lane' by eagles, do you think the songs sound similar? The lead vocalist sounds slightly like Roger there as well
there are one or two slight (and i mean very slight) similarities in isolated parts of the melody...but nothing more
as for the vocals - NO!!!! never - nothing even remotely similar, sorry

On a different note, are the lyrics to that song supposed to be ironic like Sheer Heart Attack, or are they just that stupid?

Hahaha!

This IS Roger we're talking about...
I don't think they're alike.

Drowse showed us that he COULD write lyrics if he really wanted to. I also think Sheer Heart Attack is a pretty clever parody of punk, and FFtI is pretty similar thematically, although not musically.

I don't think they're alike either
I can hear the similarity. Can't tell you exactly what it is, but I do hear it as well.
Both titles have 5 syllables, and use pretty similar meters. The words themselves could easily be interchanged between songs, even though their meanings don't mesh.

Someone should do a mashup.

If I had the skills to do so I would certainly give it a try. Sadly, it will just have to reside in my brain for me alone to enjoy.
