I was watching Queen on Fire, and I noticed that Freddie didn't have his mic stand thingy when they played 'Now I'm Here'. Just curious, does anyone know why? And does anyone know why Brian kept switching guitars? Just curious..

I went to the show the week before this at Elland Road. The reason was, because he was going out onto the gantries in front of the speakers, like he did for We Will Rock You (fast) too.

He was using a radio wireless microphone. When he has the microphone stand there is a wire attached to it. He couldn't use a microphone with a cable attached to it in front of the speakers, because it would have caused feedback.

Therefore my conclusion is, because wireles microphones were bulkier in those days, it wouldn't have fitted into the mic stand.

Brian had some tuning issues, it was a very hot day and he had to get the old lady re-tuned a couple of times, plus the infamous moment when the cable came out during his solo... I was in the middle of the crowd and everyone went ooooooooooooo, then aaaaaaaah when it came back... v funny

Well, I think there's nothing to be worried about. "Love" is not as frightening as it may seem. He could've said "Sex at the Bowl" after all!
