It cannot be cost effective? Not only is it a recording of something that was never officially pressed on vinyl, it's also a picture disk. How the hell do they do it? This honestly bugs me more than it should.

it's actually extremely profitable when you think about it. prices start at £2.00 per 7" pic disc and (depending on volume) come down to £1.00 per unit. so selling these "rarities" at ($37) £24...is a great money spinner. For a £625 outlay you get 300 discs. You only need to sell 26 units to start making a profit. that leaves you 274 discs to make (upto) £5500 profit from an initial £600 outlay.

hope you're less "bugged" now?

Yes, but this is limited to 50 copies and that website don't do just 50 copies!

I don't understand why QPL don't crack down on these Bootleggers.
You can guarantee that if I was on Ebay selling a hundred copies of something they'd have me up in court :(

^ these manufacturing places are legit, and wouldn't touch this with a bargepole. To do it personally would cost a small fortune, so the sale price would have to be higher. This is somebody, or a group of folk, who have a private pressing plant, and are churning these out by the shitload. The picture, font etc used on the example above is crap, and there has been little effort to make it look good....or to even get spelling correct lol.

who says it's limited to 50 copies? they may have had 300 pressed for sale all over and just listed 50 for ebay "this time"
and the site i provided was just one of many - as merely an example of how profitable these things can be

Thanks for the link it's a bit of an eye opener. Still though all methods listed require "from supplied master"

How do they put something on vinyl that has never been released on that format? They have access to some kind of machine to etch a blank master vinyl from another audio source? So it is probably done by guys who work in a proper factory and they use quiet time to do their nasty business?

I find it amazing people can produce stuff like this and get away with it. As others have said I doubt too it is also limited to 50 copies, how could you trust that statement.

I didn't notice that until you mentioned it. :) I wonder if the bidder has spotted it? I am also curious to see how much it sells for, EUR 37.77 at the moment.

Yeah, I see the seller is in Athens, Greece. That country is so screwed at the moment I doubt this kind of thing is on their legal radar, least of the governments problems.

No government in the world would sue anyone for copyright infringement. That's solely for the copyright holders to do. Copyright infringement is almost always a matter of civil law. For it to come under the heading of criminal law, you have to do pretty extreme things.

Erm, if you look at the photos, it quite clearly states on the record itself "50 copies".
