Indeed. Then we can only speculate until a new video of some show from that period surfaces (if there's one).

Maybe it was just for one or two songs, and after all, it was over 35 years ago. Whether or not Mercury was wearing a mask probably isn't your fondest memory of the gig nor what you would've even talked about the next day.
