You're right, he didn't tour to avoid the early sessions, but what he DID do was make the vast majority of the work that R & J did in Brian's absence redundant when he felt he was ready.
>Are you Brian's ex-wife or something?
No, but is it any wonder that he actually HAS an ex wife............?
great view on the things that happened to happen. nothing new, though. but a nice sum up. well done, dude !
btw if i remember correctly, brian gave some track to track inside-view on some kind of ...audio file... which was available on REALaudio@8k. yes. 8k. barely listenable. nonetheless interesting. i wonder if someone got these files. probably in a higher quality. ? any hint is welcome !!! thx in advance ! anyway. did the session-video presented on his homepage in '98 did surface in proper quality yet ?

the track to track commentary was coming from the video EPK , so it was not interesting in low quality

Nelson Mandela is on his third wife. Or is he a complete twat too?
Marriages break up. It can happen to nearly anyone. The fact that you are trying to do a character assassination by mentioning a divorce only reveals your desperation and personal agenda.

The Real Wizard, re:

Well, he is responsible for raising the hopes and expectaions of MILLIONS in a generation of black people who suffered under apartheid, getting his ANC party in to power and then that same Government delivering virtually none of the promises they were made and increasing the levels of crime and parliamentary corruption as a result. I live in South Africa and, believe me, there are *plenty* of people who think he is just that. I don't, but that doesn't kind of "suit you", does it, sir? Winnie Mandela was a narcissistic, lying, scheming, adulterous, murdering bitch who abused her level of power in the same way Mugabe has done, so Madiba has mitigation on that one, don't you agree? Don't get yourself too far out of the shallows here chap.............

Go back and read my posts - where did *I* 'mention' divorce? You asked if I was Brian's ex-wife implying that I was divorced from him and I replied that I wasn't.
What do you percieve my personal agenda to be then? FWIW, and just to help you understand things in a nice and simple way, Brian rates in the top 5 guitarists I have ever listened to, but his decision-making, approach and material have been seriously flawed and have had a negative effect on the Queen legacy since FM's death.
Hope that helps.

I recently downloaded the EPK for Another World from a newsgroupserver. The quality is not great (probably a 2nd generation VHS-copy digitalized) but on a regular tv still very watchable. Any interest? I could rip it and upload somewhere.

Brian didn't intend for Roger to sing on NOBY back when it was planned as the Heroes finale. Brian had tailored the drum track to be played by Roger, and that's why he sent him the track. When Rog suggested they turned it into a Queen song and Brian agreed to the inclusion of John and the tempo change, that's when he asked Rog to sing the second cycle and some harmonies.

Brian: When I made him [Roger] listen to - and finally record! - "No-one but you", which he was going to sing with me on my album anyway, before we decided otherwise…

Wow, then his account about the song on his website (ca. 8-10 years ago) was mistaken... not the first time.
