Freddie's solo stuff hardly charted back in the day. If I play something these days like 'Living On My Own' on public radio now, people ask me who the Hell it's by. Why didn't they do that back in '85???

I'm drunk but it's a truthful and wonderful question.

Cause it SUCKED.

It was uninspired and crap. You're OBVIOUSLY drunk *hiccup*

Share a brew with your friends for me would ya?

The 91 remixes actually sound better than most nineties crap remixes in my opinion.

If you're thinking about those then please consult the original CBS label version. It SUCKS.

Doesn't even suck d***

It sucks crap. .. crap out of a septic tank.

As Roger has made ppl privy with the DOOL documentary, progress on that album was null.
Freddie was much greater as a collaborator. (History proves this)

As were all of the band.

You'd need a time machine.

It's really not that good. (At least the instrumentation)

I liked the gimmicks in "let's turn it on" though.

Door slam, sped up guitars etc. But it's just not that damn good.

Even the orchestra on mr bad guy starts BIG then descends.

I dunno. Never enjoyed that first album as more than novelty. Could give a shit how it charted. I was barely born that year.

Barcelona. ... on the other hand. ... as an ALBUM. ... easily eclipses most of Queen's 1980's output.

(Album wise, it's more consistent)

That's definitely a desert island disc for me

P.s. I LIKE Budweiser.

It's a decent domestic choice for pro beer nights out of the house.

DO prefer something more stout though... what do they drink in YOUR drunken rambling town?

mr bad guy is a great pop album. that's why it didn't have success in the 80 but it would now. even with synth version

A big mug of dark rich home brew while listening to Barcelona. A second mug through Golden Boy...

Mr Bad Guy is an album full of great musical ideas but the production/instrumentation/arrangement on some of the songs just sucks. The title track itself is capable of cheering up and shining brightness into a cold autumn day.
As someone posted above, Jim Beach's comments on the recent documentary showed that Freddie wasn't happy with the end result and considered it as a project which outcome wasn't as good as originally planned. And what could he do at the point of listening the final mix ? stop the whole production and demand more money from the cbs and change musicians ?!

PS.: If you really want to air on radio some of the songs from the album, choose wisely.

PPS.: Imagine if instead of reworking 3 songs and dealing with 2 estates, BM and RT reworked whole or majority of the Mr Bad Guy album... that could be great.

Umm...I suppose it would be cool if Queen were to re-record the studio l.p. "Mr. Bad Guy" but having great new musicians re-record it might be best in order to keep it solo...or at least some aspect of it if both things are done. A third re-recording would be great with popular recording artists as well.

When/if the new album from Queen does surface,I understand There Must be More to Life Than This will be on the album. That'll be the third track off Mr Bad Guy reworked after IWBTLY and Made in Heaven.Mr Bad Guy and Love me like there's no tomorrow could be epic if Brian and Roger reworked them also. She blows hot and cold was a Queen track originally right?

Brian was in the demo of She Blows hot and Cold. It´s in the solo collection released in 2000

Since when are drunken fuckwits allowed to go on this forum?

Thanks for reminding me of "love me like there's no tomorrow"... that "mih" and "tmbmtltt" are probably the best work on that album. Been so long since I've heard it. "Foolin Around" isn't bad either
