Are they asking you to return the faulty box? What's to stop someone unscrupulous claiming a new set and then returning the faulty one? Or selling the faulty one?

They are just asking for the proof of purchase. Not asking for a return of the faulty one.
Wow.
once I receive the corrected box set I have zero interest in re-selling my faulty one. I´ll keep it as it is: a rarity

Great to hear !
So ... why isn't everyone chiming in to say "wooooow, great service?"
I'll tell you why - because you airheads (note: Roger reference cleverly crowbarred into my rant) are only interested in whining, not giving praise. I pity you all for having such negative views of the world and inherent need for conflict.
Someone had to say it. Crucify me.

I can only speak for myself, but I'd like to hear what exactly has been corrected, and/or know that a new copy has been sent to me before thanking them too much.
Roger's message (which said that SOME people are having problems with the set) implies that not all products might be replaced after all.
I'll praise the service when I am actually able to have the copy I preordered over a month and a half ago in my hands.....
Well done to Universal for trying to deal with this matter.
I'm sure people will post their views on receipt of replacement discs, hopefully in a positive way.

You do realize that you are now actually complaining..? :)
