Hello everybody, I saw THE MAKING OF A NIGHT AT THE OPERA, in the section I'M IN LOVE WITH MY CAR.
I noticed that the Queen Prod. DVD is in 16:9 format. I checked YV (and Chief Mouse) versions of Japan '79. They're in 4:3 format.
I took a snapshot from each version.
Why QP has cropped the video to make it 16:9?? PS: Not only Japan, Earls Court too...

Because 16:9 is the standart today so they're filling up the frame. I wish they left it 4:3 with black bars on sides, like the film footage bits in The Great Pretender documentary.

Personally can't stand seeing a big screen with a picture half it's size in the middle. To hell with the black bars!! (even if it means that the picture has been slightly cropped or stretched to achieve full screen).
