Wow. I really wouldn't have ever expected there to be such interest in this. Not because the DVD/VHS's are all edited, but because it was on the telly only 21 years ago.
Had it been early 80's or even 1970's, then I'd expect folks to have difficulty finding it in decent quality, but come on, surely millions of Queen fans recorded it on VHS (or even SVHS!) at the time?
Of course, there's always the possibility that most people on QZ didn't discover Queen until after the event.... That's a question I'd certainly love to hear a response to.
Is there anybody here who was actually a fan when the band were still recording and releasing records?

I think I missed the broadcast. Its showing another program title.
Having the flu is not fun at all.
Youre right. It ought to have been a popular topic. Hopefully the broadcast was much better than whatever elements exist on the web.
Damn.... guess I'll have to wait 30 years for an official release.
Could be Fun though. ... in retirement

I recorded the entire show from start to finish in long play on a decent VCR of the time. I need to hunt the tape out and get it converted.
it was the Freddie tribute that got me into queen in a big way - being able to see queen for more than just a rock band.
it was also the tribute when i heard "love of my life" for the first time and it was breathtaking. Sadly for some reason we will only ever see it in a crude quality vhs tv rip. I would probably say that extremes version of loml is one of the best moments of the concert.

Funny that Jacsonmerc. I detest the FM Tribute concert so much I've never watched my own recordings of it back. They sit languishing on a shelf somewhere and whilst I had an SVHS deck, I didn't have an SVHS tape to record it on, so yep, 240 lines only I'm afraid.
The big question is if I/we transfer our recordings, how do we get it out for folks to enjoy without posting it here and breaking the "no official stuff" rule?
