click on the single file, then you have to click "open" on the blue botton in the bar at the bottom, then "download"

When I click any of the icons I get a sad face picture with an error message "Sorry an error has occurred, retrying."

If you use Firefox,

Click the file to be downloaded
Click the open button at the bottom of the screen, and the black down arrow at the top left hand corner of the screen
Click download in the next screen, click save
Click the toolbar for the download screen to see your download.
