I´ve never heard about the "Night and the City" version of the Great Pretender, so this is really appreciated.

And thanks for the Gegen Willy Show appearance by Freddie. I wonder if it will ever be included in future releases since i think this is a great performance by Freddie, even though he was miming.

Actuallly "the night and the city" audio of the great pretender was released in 2006 on the freddie mercury lover of life singer of songs. It was on the 2nd disc.
That was the first time i ever listened to it.
Very nice version by the way

Hi, "Night And The City" video contains the audio from Brian Malouf Mix, Gegen Willy is the original 1987 Uk single version.

So it's a different mix, not just a difference in length?

For the movie "Night And The City" it was used:
"The Great Pretender" - Original version from Irwin Winkler's film 'Night And The City' • Published by Panther Music Corp. / Southern Music Publishing (ASCAP) 1992 - Original sound recording owned by Mercury Songs Ltd. (look here -> http://www.discogs.com/Freddie-Mercury-The-Great-Pretender/release/1984276). This remix was especially done for the 1992 US compilation "The Great Pretender" (Label:Hollywood Records – HR-61402-2). Instead @ Gegen's Willy Show Freddie's was singing in playback to the original 1987 cover version of the song released the same year as a single.
