This one is tough, but I shall give it a shot. I don't know the years of the movies. Many are movies that my parents love and I have seen all my life, but I have no clue when they were made. Sorry, I am not a film buff.

1. Adventure film - Gladiator & Lord of the Rings
2. Romance film - Pretty Woman
3. Comedy - Johnny English (I just love it!)
4. Horror film - Sorry, but I refuse to watch horror.
5. Science Fiction - Blade Runner (Harrison Ford) & Star Wars
6. Martial Arts film - I don't like martial arts, but I will say Enter the Dragon. My dad loves it so much I must have seen it a million times.
7. Musical - Les Mis & My Fair Lady

1 - Back To The Future
2 - Romance? I don't do romance. Although I did find Three To Tango with Matthew Perry quite amusing some time ago.
3 - The Sunshine Boys (Original, Walter Matthau and George Burns)
4 - Frankenstein (Original, Boris Karloff), although I do have a soft spot for Phantasm II
5 - Star Trek 2009
6 - Enter The Dragon
7 - Phantom Of The Opera
Have you switched it off and then on again?

If I went with Brenski's category swaps, I'd pick Rocky II for sports, Houdini for historical/biographic.

Which phantom of the opera?

I'm sure it's been filmed numerous times.

Haha about musicals. I don't like any either I WAS going to include MEET THE FEEBLES ....
Singin' in the Rain is a rare thing. It's actually a good FILM.

I kinda cheated like brenski did with King Kong. For some reason forgot An American werewolf in London (*one of the greats that could also fit comedy and horror)

Star Trek IV can easily be in 3 categories that film is soo good (adventure sci fi comedy)

Brenski.... WHICH warriors film? The gang one? The one with Cyrus at the beginning? Freaking love that movie.

Gonna look into ' the sunshine boys" and "as good as it gets"; I seem to be the only person who hasn't seen that film.

As for anybody interested "my young auntie" is another rare thing. Historical era action adventure martial arts comedy romance musical. Don't know how they did it but that film is amazingly entertaining

I have to skip this thread completely... actually I have to skip four genres...but thanks for this... I will buy some of the DVD`s on ebay or wherever I`can get them.

to that "Meet the feebles" thing - that one I saw around 95` in a german "Programmkino" ( B-Cinema / unusual non mainstream movie-theatre), it was a double header that also contains "Bad Taste"..I was well entertained :)
Munich - Cocaine and low taxes ! You can add me on FB - Musicland Munich QZ - don`t miss the QZ !
matt z wrote:For some reason forgot An American werewolf in London (*one of the greats that could also fit comedy and horror)
yep. it could. you know that leaving it out could almost be borderline sacrilege, don't you? :-)

Mr Z, I really love the story of Phantom of the Opera so much that I have seen and own several versions. Obv the silent ones don't count, although I love that Lon Chaney stuff. I really like the Universal Studios version with Claude Rains, and hope this qualifies (if not, then I've just cheated too).
Have you switched it off and then on again?
