So Freddie's last TV-appearance was on German tv, right?

This is no rare footage : Freddie Mercury - The Great Pretender (Gegen Willy Show, 1987) but is it actually his last TV appearance right?

The Barcelona (La Nit performance) may be a year later but this was an event covered by tv, not a tv- appearance per ce. The same with that Queen-award "Best Band of the 80s".

Nothing special here just a bit unlikely for his global status.

How about the 1990 Brit Awards? I thought it was televised?

Yes, i mentioned it above (Queen-award/bset band of the 80's) but as an "event covered by tv", not an exclusively tv-appearance.

Well...I watched the clip...and he definitely owns the stage!

^...and I can definitely remember what my father said back in the days ( the whole family was gathered around the TV) " Oh what a clown"...and by today`s perspective, I have to admit that he was a bit "overacting" at that mimed performance.

He used to overact when he mimed. Same with that Montreux festival. He was all-over the place... haha. Still i enjoyed it.

Actually Freddie did not perform in the show. His performance was recorded prior to the show.

You are confusing two things. Best Band of the 80's award was presented by Jonathan Ross and the ceremony took place in1989. Freddie had a beard. The Brit Awards took place in February 1990 and Freddie was clean-shaved and very ill looking.
