I was watching my DVD of "Final Live In Japan" And it surprised me that it looked very sharp and detailed, so i was thinking.... Was it actually shot on 35mm film like Some Girl live in Texas, or Rock Montreal?

It might not be their best tour, but i still think that it was a great show, and in my opinion it deserves a treatment.
Better audio mix, brush up the videoquality and release it on Blu-Ray.

Definitely shot on tape not film, using very good video cameras but still on tape. Remember that in quality & detail terms Japan is always a step beyond all the other countries ;)

You`ve got a point there indeed, they were always ahead, however... it had some washing when it got near the lightning rig (Could that be because the camera`s back then were tubes?)

Its kinda funny how... Consumer Full HD camera`s still dont really come close to the Professional SD camera`s.

Indeed they are. I belive teh national TV station NHK aren't even bothering with 4k and going straight to 8k instead.

WHAT A LOAD OF B******X!

Its kinda not true!

You've obviously never used a high end consumer Panasonic camcorder that can record in 1080 50/60p!
Even in 50/60i it's MUCH better that the pq of ANY SD camera, pro or otherwise.

Don't forget a professional camera in any format will give the user much more control than any consumer camera, be it video or stills. A lot of consumer cameras are simply 'point and shoot' not giving the suer any creative control.

You could say the same about the audio.

Take a look at some of the great stuff on Vimeo which has a lot of great stuff shot on HD video with DSLRs
