Its a pretty complex subject.
There are good points and bad. One of the good points is we could be bringing Queen back in to the picture with hits off the album. Plus John,Brian and Roger could make a ton of money if it all goes to plan.
However, like a lot of people have said, this is Freddie Mercury we're talking about. The best musician ever to exist! The Made In Heaven album turned out well but Freddie purposely recorded himself singing. But today you can edit past voice recordings and made something new out of it.
Like I said its pretty confusing. It's really up to Freddie but sadly he can't give his opinion.
I don't really have an opinion on this but if I had to say something it would to perhaps make a few songs and put them on an album but a lot of people (including me) will know that that's not the REAL Freddie Mercury and NO ONE will ever compare to him.

What a soulless piece of shit that album would be. Go listen to a live band ffs! [/QUOTE]

Agreed! Technology manipulating human input. Not a good thing

Mercury fur, you have some funny ideas. I'm not saying this in a disparaging manner, and please don't be put off by some of the overly stern comments from your fellow posters. But keep in my mind that part of Freddie's legend was created specifically BECAUSE of his death. He was a star when he died, but he became truly legendary after this death, and this legend continues to increase. By creating artificial Freddie material (e.g. artificial songs, artificial concerts), you'd basically be destroying the legend by trying to bring him partially back to life. Freddie's dead. People last saw him live at Knebworth, and heard his last song, 'Mother Love' in 1995 - and that is the image they have in their heads - Freddie in his yellow jacket, greater than anything. You don't want to change that with something made by a computer.

A few unheard songs sung by Freddie is fine (i.e. what will be on Queen Forever), but not something made artificially.

Better to celebrate what he did rather than something completely made up.

I definitely agree with the above. But there is a halfway house on this. If Freddie has been involved in the creation of some really inspired bits of work that never got fully completed, then Brian and Roger finishing that stuff off makes sense to me. Just as they did with MIH! And the song Feelings Feelings came out with the rereleased studio albums on the NOTW EP. And that was take 9 or take 10 or something. It's probably just an OK song, so maybe they thought we'll give them one original track with the set.

But if so many takes of that previously unknown song appeared, and it was worth sort of "sacrificing" it on the box set rather than putting it on a new album, well it makes me think there might be plenty more where that one came from. Not even any need to go to "song scraps", so to speak.

And it should also be remembered that before Freddie died, he asked the others to give him words and music for him to sing precisely so it could be released later! Given these facts, It would seem to me that releasing anything other than songs with completely artificial Freddie singing on them, has his blessing.

So Brian and Roger (and possibly also John too, if much of this stuff was worked on soon after Pro Tools came into being) are doing what they are doing with Freddie's blessing.

The only other thing, as far as I'm concerned is that it be also done up to a standard that Freddie would have approved of. So far I think the three remaining members get a huge tick for MIH and based on that output, I am confident that Brian and Roger (and maybe John) will only put out Freddie involved material that is up to a standard that Queen fans and Freddie would expect.

Yes, maybe(?) they could finish a couple of songs using this technology, like "You Are The Only One," but I'm not sure if I want them to.

"This technology" isn't used for anything, it's only in the OP's head.

They haven't made michael jackson songs from it.
