"The Box Of Trix" was never commercially released as it was only available through the official fan club but no other outlets such as actual record stores or whatever other places that would have sold it. PLUS I think that it was pretty much a limited edition anyway. I also do not not know why this simple information has not been more accessible or stated more than it has in recent years.

I`am not sure about that. In better record stores there was a section for those limited Editions or collectors items. I saw one Box of Trix for sale back then. It contains a VHS of the rainbow gig and a poster( can`t remember what was on it) as far as I remember.
Of course they could have buy some boxes of Tricks to re-sell them.
