Question about Freddie´s "Love Kills" version

I have a question about Freddie´s version of "Love Kills":

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3X6KtQ7nxQ

For years it´s being known that Queen did a version of this song, and later Freddie released it solo with Giorgio Moroder. The reason it´s sessions weren´t included in the Freddie´s box set was because it would - eventually - be included in a future Queen box set.

It seems to me that there is definitely some uncredit stuff going on on the solo version of this song.

After reading the Wikipedia : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_Kills_%28Freddie_Mercury_song%29

There´s this bit that i find very interesting:

"Brian said in 2000, that the released version almost definitely features his guitar work and Roger's programmed drums, but it's not known if the bass is by John or if it's synthesized." - there´s not a source to this text.

My question is:
The solo at the end of the song is - i believe - Brian May. There´s no doubt in my mind that that´s Brian phrasing right there. Is there any official confirmation of this?
And could it be possible for Brian, Roger and even John to not know in adavance if their stuff was going to be used?

Last year Roger Taylor did an interview with the Queenzone user Apocalipsis_Darko where he admited that he played on the "Love Kills" track: Here´s the QZ topic : http://www.queenzone.com/forums/1384732/a-new-roger-interesting-interview-but-.aspx

My translaction would be (feel free to correct me):
"Question: Did you play in "Love Kills", the first Freddie mercury solo single, in exchange of the Metropolis footage for it to be used on Radio GaGa?

Roger Taylor: Yes i did, i used to use those electronic rythms. It´s a great song."

From this i take that the electronic drums were programmed by Roger Taylor on Freddie´s solo track.

Now on this tour, Brian is revisiting this song, and at the end those lines just made me sure that he indeed plays in Freddie´s version. My doubt is, it sounds like a Synth solo. On the Queen track "I can´t live with you" his guitar has a synth flavour sound but not to this extent. So, i´m really confused, but curious at the same time.

Can someone add something to this? Who are we listening to when we play Freddie Mercury´s version of Love Kills?

Thanks in advance for all who can contribute to this.

I remember reading when it was released, possibly in the fan club mag, that Brian & Roger were both on the track, but not John, but no idea who played bass, it definitely started life as a Queen track though, as we will hear on the new album.

I didn't mind the live version as it gave a possible insight to the studio version, but... yeah, Agreed.

Glad to help, I'll trawl thru my old fan club mags over the weekend to see if I can find the quote.
