Yeah, things were different back then. Film a gig was over the top and a futile exercise most of the time, today everybody is able to get an 1080p TV or even a 4K one. In the 80s people only had ''normal'' TVs, and videotapes or laserdisc which i believe are most expensive than DVDs or Blurays. So things like Montreal and Budapests were a rarity at that time, Is understandable after filming Budapest and taping Wembley they thought they won't need Knebworth.
Talking about that, i rewatched that mini documentary today and i noticed they have the news coverage of gigs in Newcastle, Slane Castle, France, Knebworth... At the time, in Barcelona, TVE filmed at least We Will Rock You, Friends Will Be Friends and We Are The Champions but that footage doesn't appear.
Someone could ask to that TV Station if they still have the footage in their archives (they released the their Madrid 79 tapes). But my bet is they were probably destroyed, knowing Freddie is shown with a Catalonian flag in WWRY.
Concerning Knebworth it hass been said that at least the second half of the concert was properly filmed so that would be the material which is gathering dust in DORO archives.
As for Mannheim and Cologne - it hasn't been confirmed whether the shows were taped over by the Hungarian crews.
Problem is that digging in the archives, even in UK - e. g. DORO archives is expensive as Greg Brooks or GT has stated. Of course if Universal company would be interested and provide needed money well... that would be a different case. We don't know how much they know and if they are willing to conduct that kind of operation. Also, for that kind of project a good archivist or a whole team would come in handy. People like GB, GT or Rhys with their knowledge will find the material faster as they would know what they're looking for and where it could be found.
In my opinion Universal/Island records is completely focused on Q+Al project and they're calculating how profitable it will turn out to be (tour + maybe (live) album).
We're lucky we have something to wait for (Rainbow of course ! :) and the album with unreleased material if it won't be (again) postponed. I personally don't think it will be postponed as Adam is "announcing" the album on each gig before Love Kills. He said that it is one of the "remixed, remastered, re-done" songs, so we can count that it will be included on the Queen Forever album.

Properly filmed with two or three cameras? Is not enough to a do a release.
Or they are talking about the big screen feed? Someone decide to push a button and videotaped that after Love of my Life? Still isn't enough, it would be like Wembley first night, John Deacon played that night or was at the bar?
Something like Wembley 1 is fantastic to have for the fans, and i am glad to have it, but for the mainstream market is only an ''extra'' feature.
And even if half of it is there what is the quality?
I don't know exactly what tape they have used (suppose it was 35mm tape)... There were some snippets of Hammer to Fall in the FM DORO documentary shared few days ago here on Queenzone. Thanks to dave76 you can see from what angles the Doro team has recorded the show and if it is enough to release it as a bonus material to the let's say complete audio recording of Knebworth. From the master tapes they could produce 5.1 mix in uncompressed 96khz audio quality and synch it to the tracks that were captured live by the Doro team.

There is no such thing as 35mm tape. You're thinking of 35mm film ie. shot on optical negatives. I doubt very much anyone is shooting concert footage on that these days.

There were notices at Sheffield saying it was being filmed and the big crane cam was a dead give-away.
