i agree with The Real Wizard.

Some of the riders belonging to the real Diva's of this world, and a lot of rappers too, make Queen's look like a small shopping list.

A few things you need to remember are. When youre touring and spending long priods away from home the dressing room, or chill out area back stage is the one place where you can have some of the comforts of home, and things you are used too.

I know for a fact that during their time at a venue, both RT and, BM will have a steady stream of visitors, family, friends or associates from within the business. So much of what is listed will be consumed by people other than the artist. Tradition also plays a part in this, in that what ever is left usually ends up on the crew bus.

The other thing to remember, as pointed out by Mr Wizard, a dressing room rider is meant to be private, and at the end of the day the cost of it comes out of the tour expence budget so is still paid for by the artist in the long run.

Maybe the people on here who are quick to accuse BM of being a Diva should post their weekly shopping list!

Diva? You guys clearly haven't seen David Copperfield's rider. What you see here is pretty standard.

As a professional musician myself, I'm very sad to see that this has been made public. This absolutely should not have been posted wherever it was originally posted.[/QUOTE]

Oh come on, its very common to post this things, there are sites that usually posts this kind of stuff and nobody talk about it as if we were showing critical info like schedules, hotels, private phone numbers etc (BTW some of that info is available in twitter for many bands)
I have seen this kind of info a lot of times, and even musicians talk about it all the time, at least here in Mexico you can easily hear about it on tv news and nobody finds it offensive, sad or strange. Stories about Madonna's forniture, or Barbra Streisand requesting a police team to find any possible explosive devices are public and even artists talk about it.

I agree that this rider is very basic, as I already posted, but still Im surprised by the difference between Brian and Roger's/Adam's rider.
Queen: Roger Taylor, Mike Grose, Freddie Mercury, Brian May.

What I find most interesting about these lists is that the rest of the band only get water, fruit and peanuts.

Is that actually their wish, do they hang around in the other dressing rooms, or is that extra $100 saved just so they can pay a bit more to Brian and Roger? :P

If they keep their "tradition" sharing a common place for the whole band, just like they did in the old days, perhaps they share some stuff.

Very decent riders if you ask me. Nothing diva like. Look at Axl's rider, there you see a Diva...

Brians rider contains lots of healthy items. Funny to see there are some non-vegan items on it as well. Might be for family/friends/guests.

Although I liked reading the riders, not being a professional musician myself, I think it's a shame these ended up on the internet...

It's commonly known that most session musicians don't get paid that well. It wouldn't surprise me if they even have to pay for the items on their rider.

I see that Brian has to have Coke not Pepsi...well I guess i'll just have to live with it...

So basically, don't even offer them Pepsi. LoL

I agree that these things should not be made public; however having said that, there is nothing controversial in any of that, and it's all pretty straight forward and nothing embarrassing - might have been a different stories if there was anything 'Spinal Tap' esque there.

As others have said, their visitors, the rest of the band (Spike, Neil, Rufus), plus the road crew would most likely be consuming a lot of that (unless Roger has started to drink from 8 different glasses, cups etc!!)

I don't suppose Roger has a group of female fans in the back stage these days?

Well it wasn't too long ago that we were shown Brian's toilet. So I guess nothing is sacred anymore.

Some do, and some don't. Depends who you work for...

But if something is on the rider, the hired gun definitely does not pay for it.

Unless you're in Bon Jovi. Pretty boy signs the cheques and runs the business even though it appears to be a collective. It isn't. Never mind the hired guns - Tico and Dave have been in the band for 30 years and their flights are deducted from their cheque. Seriously. I wish I was making it up.

The promoters pay for the Riders....... venue rental, advertising, backline rentals, accommodation for the band, the rider, and the payment for the band....are all traditionally paid by the promoter.
