In 80 I believe he was just starting to grow it out!

No he had it at the beginning of the game tour I believe cause everyone threw razors at the stage yelling at him to shave it

Ok looked it up last show on the crazy tour hammersmith '79 no stache first show of the game tour Vancouver 6/30/80 the stache is present in about a 6 monty gap

Freddie's moustache history:
March-April 1980 he began to make them grown (firstly they appeared on the "Play The Game" video shot on 29-05-1980 as stated here: http://web.archive.org/web/20110825043735/http://www.btinternet.com/~darren.robins/queen_thevideos/index.htm).
04-05-1984 Freddie cut them off for the video "I want to break free".
Feb. 1987 he cut them off (this time for good) for the video "The Great Pretender",

Although he was already being diagnosed i like the beard look he had for "The Miracle" era. There is this beautiful early '89 pic of the band just before the album came out. He looked good there and still healthy.

No that one was probably in '88 he is in the Barcelona look
