With kate Bush currently performing 22 shows at Hammersmith, her first shows in 35, i was wondering how many other atists have had a successful album selling career without playing any shows in support of new releases.
The only two i could think of are The beatles, who didnt tour after 1966 and Queen from 1986 to 1991 despite both bands still recording and releasing good selling albums.
i'm not talking about bands who release an album and dont tour for a couple of months after its release, or artists who take a year or two off. Just people who have carried on with studio work but not played live.

Im not sure but I think Jean Michel Jarre may be one of those artists, at least I never heard from any tour or concert unless he is playing in front of lots and lots of people...

Carole King?
Does she still loathe performing now as she did back in the day?

Kate Bush herself! 35 years is a lot longer than eithe The Beatles or Queen went without tourig. And all her 11 albums have been back in the UK top 50 since she did. I'm seeing her on the 13th of this month. All report seem to suggest that she's nailed it!

He recently did a world tour in arenas.

The only album Pink Floyd didn't tour on the back of was The Final Cut.
