So, premature celebrity death topics are no-no but offending trolls are OK?

Seriously, what the fuck. My topic prematurely joking about Joan Rivers' death gets quietly removed without explanation nor notification, YET trolls such as rocknrolllover who are ironically JUST as equally offending as Rivers are allowed to stay here despite massive outcry by the core user base in the past, all because this website supposedly follows a lax "free speech" standard???

This is NOT free speech nor fair practice. There is something very wrong and unbalanced with this picture.

Yeah, this simply doesn't make sense, even by QZ standards. It's just arbitrary censorship. If it is the result of someone complaining, that's extremely hypocritical considering the absolute lack of a response to trolling and commercial spamming on this forum. If it's a pre-emptive deletion, that's just as bad - it would prove that the moderator doesn't care about trolling and spamming as she is evidently willing to delete the Joan Rivers-topic, but not any of the countless others she received complaints about.

Basically, any explanation short of "QZ was hacked by an angry Joan Rivers-fan who deleted the topic" is going to make the mod look bad.

naaaaaah. I mean I see your point but I can't commit to caring much. I think it would be really low to wipe a thread of that nature and allow other spam to run rampant on the forum as it does, but I can't say to a medical certainty that that's what happened.

Barb did the right thing. A troll voicing an opinion is one thing, but an unapologetic troll intentionally posting lies, prematurely celebrating a person's death and then bragging about it deserves to have his post removed.

I feel like I am too old for the "beef" on QZ....but my suggestion to the so called mods...kick out the trolls (IP-Ban)...a little hint how to identify them "...lll... ...fff...And while you are at work "Get my God damned Profile fixed !" Page not found isn`t sexy enough. Thank you !
