To MrQueenFan. VLC plays it fine to me, perhaps you need to update it.
As for MKV, it's only a video container. For this you gotta thank the H.264 codec that has better quality even if the bitrate is 3X smaller than a standart DVD MPEG-2.
If by burning you mean converting it to DVD video then it would look slightly worse. There is no point in doing that.
Here's what I usually do if I want to view something on TV - get a laptop and connect it to the TV with HDMI or copy the video to external HD or flash drive and plug it into PS3 or TV if it supports MKV files.

Thanks for the reply. It´s really fascinating how good MKV looks even in the conditions you´ve mentioned. Thanks for the tip on how to watch this on TV - no need to ruin DVD´s :-)
It´s been a while since the last time i´ve updated my VLC player, so i think now is the right time to do it again. Thanks again.

Thanks for the reply.
I´ve checked Freddie´s last words and it seems alright to me. But i did a screen capture and you can confirm it too. The audio is low because i´ve used the laptop microphone, but if you put the headphones on you will hear it fine. For the test i´ve used Windows Media Player because Media Player Classic wasn´t working properly with the screen capture. For the screen capture i´ve used aTube Catcher.

I hope this helps.

It's hard for me to tell from that clip but if it looks ok to you that's all for the good.
I know when I made my DVD, I had to sync it in several places.
As the audio was ripped from a different source I was expecting some issues.
